Petrarca's House
This is the birthplace of the great poet, Francesco Petrarca, and is an important part of Arezzo's historical and cultural heritage.
From May 2010, thanks to an agreement with the Accademia Petrarca of Arezzo, Creative Arts will now manage admissions and visits to the famous house, with the aim of rediscovering and putting new emphasis on this site which has all too often been undervalued and disregarded by the city's numerous visitors.
In addition to the ticket office and an attendant who can give information about Petrarch and answer questions, visitors will also find a well-stocked bookshop at the entrance, containing publications and souvenirs relating to the great humanist himself and to the Pozzo del Boccaccio, the nearby well which is referred to in the Decamoran.
